Theresa L. Schlemmer 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren on June 19, 2023, at her home in Vallejo, California. She was born on October 12, 1948, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Raymond (Spike) Cordeiro Sr. and Sophie Cordeiro. Preceded in death by her Father, Raymond (Spike) Cordeiro Sr. of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Mother, Sophie Cordeiro of Vallejo, California, Brother, Bernard Cordeiro Sr. of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and Sister, Angeline "Cookie" Cordeiro of Waianae, Hawaii.Theresa attended Pearl City Elementary School, Highlands Intermediate, and graduated from Waipahu High School in 1967. Theresa met her love, Thomas G. Schlemmer, in 1971 and later married him in February 1972. In June of 1974, she and her husband along with their first 2 children moved to Union City, California. Theresa had her third child in July 1976. In December 1976, she moved to Vallejo, California with her husband and 3 young children. She became a member of Saint Vincent's Ferrer Catholic Church in 1976 and eventually became a member of the St. Vincent's De Paul Society. She would deliver groceries to the less fortunate and cook once a month for the Christian Help Center for many years until she was unable to walk due to health issues. Theresa worked for a lei stand at the airport in Hawaii prior to moving to California. After moving to Vallejo, she worked for VCUSD as a Bus Driver for a short period of time, then was a Domestic Engineer. She had a heart for serving others, often putting others before herself. Theresa was there to always lend a hand with cooking for church events, family functions, and many parties. She was a mother figure to many, including the many children she babysat throughout her children's school years. Many were blessed to know Theresa for her sense of humor and the great laughs they had when around her. She shared her love for music with playing the Ukulele and singing at family gatherings, many held at her house. All who knew her knew that if you went to visit the Schlemmer Family, you'd leave her house with a belly full of food, lots of laughs, and many wonderful memories.Theresa is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas (Tommy) G. Schlemmer Sr. of Vallejo, CA. Her only Son, Thomas (Tom) G. Schlemmer Jr. (Liza) of Suisun City, CA. Daughters, Christina Tofaeono (Moefili), and Collette Laie, both of Vallejo, CA. 11 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grand Fur Baby "Marley." Brothers, Raymond "Keia" Cordeiro of Richmond, CA, Anthony Cordeiro Sr. of Kaneohe, HI, Sister Roberta Uyemura of Waikane, HI, numerous Nieces, Nephews, Godchildren, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Friends. Please join the Schlemmer Family as they celebrate the life and legacy of the Matriarch of their family, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM in a Mass at St. Vincent's Ferrer Catholic Church, 925 Sacramento Street, Vallejo, CA
