Nenita Navarro Rocolcol was born on August 16, 1940, in the Philippines. She was one of six children born to Vicente Navarro, Sr. and Bienvenida Gotico of Dapa, Surigao del Norte, Philippines. She had one sister and four brothers, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of over sixty years, Ramon, her seven children- Sister Helena of Mary- a Carmelite Sister for the Aged and Infirm- Monette, Ramuel, Monjun, Rona, Cindy and Darlene, her sons-in-law Nico, Sensen and Roy, her daughters-in-law Mariz and Aliena, five grandchildren, Rizelle, John-John, Mikee, Caira and Zion, and three great grandchildren, Xyreen Ana Marielle, Maia Aubree Xhanice, and Mathea Audree Xypresse. Prior to immigrating to the United States, Nita, as she was affectionately called, worked as a government employee at the Bureau of Internal Revenue in the Philippines. She, along with her husband, immigrated to the United States in 2002. She worked as a caregiver in a homecare facility in Vallejo, CA and took an early retirement in 2012. She enjoyed many happy times traveling and doing things with her husband and family. In 2018, Ramon’s health declined, and she became his fulltime caregiver. She was deeply devoted to her family, enjoyed cooking meals and treats for them, watched her favorite Filipino shows, played her lotto scratches, listened and sung to Nat King Cole and others on Pandora, and did karaoke. She loved to collect photos and kept them in her Ipad which she used as an album. She was a woman who was unassuming and simple, devoted to her family, loving and selfless, who never kept anything for herself. To her friends, she was very loyal and giving, sometimes to a fault. She kept her Catholic roots and kept her Catholic Faith foremost in her life. She went to church and received holy Communion daily when she was still able, prayed her rosary several times a day and loved her many devotions. She lived with a terminal diagnosis but enjoyed life to the fullest up until recently when she began to lose her battle with cancer and passed away suddenly on September 13, 2023. Even then, God granted her many blessings and graces. As we send her to her final rest, we believe that we will see her again in the glory of the final resurrection!
