Elsa Bocobo

Elsa Religioso Bocobo, 81 entered into God’s kingdom on July 3, 2023. She was born on June 19,1942 in Laguna, Philippines. Elsa, a very faithful servant and child of God, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, is survived by her husband Carlito Bocobo; children Caryelson and Clarizza (Ceasar Palma); grandchildren Caliani Palma, Calvin Palma and Caleb Bocobo. Upon graduating from The University of the Philippines in Manila, Elsa began a career in banking where she met her forever love and husband of 49 years, Carlito. Together they immigrated to the United States seeking opportunity. They originally planned on settling in Chicago packing nothing more than one bag of belongings but accidentally ended up in California where they both landed new careers. Elsa began working as an accountant for an industrial company in Hayward, CA. After a year of intensely saving their pennies, Elsa and Carlito planted roots in Vallejo, CA and bought their home, the same home they lived in to this day. Elsa proudly served the community by opening her own business and offering financial expertise. She helped countless people with life insurance and home loans as an insurance and real estate broker. She loved gardening, sewing, and finding great deals while casually walking the isles of Ross and Burlington. But most of all, in her later years, she adored being a grandma. She was also a very dedicated member of the Fellowship United Methodist Church (FUMC), actively serving the church as treasurer for over 30 years, singing in the choir, and loved being part of the women’s ministry. Elsa was a genuinely caring and giving woman who found the most joy when helping others. She constantly put others before herself. Her smile lit up a room and quickly gave you an overwhelming sense of safety. With her unwavering spirit, she was fiercely resilient through many challenges of life. Her laugh, embraces, strength, guidance, and passion to love all those who loved her will be ingrained in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor to Fellowship United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Vallejo, CA.
