August 20, 1955 - February 8, 2021
Remembering Mercy On Monday February 8, 2021, God brought one of His faithful servants home. Mercedita “Mercy” B. Osorio, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 65. Mercy was born on August 20, 1955 in Manila, Philippines. Born to Celso and Pacita Bruno, she was the eldest child of her family which included siblings Carolina, Cecilia and Rhoderic. During her time in the Philippines, Mercy attended the Philippine College of Commerce (PCC), known today as Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), and pursued a degree in Business Education. She came to the United States on March 4, 1981 and married Oscar Osorio on April 4, 1981. On January 6, 1995 they had a beautiful baby girl and named her Allison Jean Osorio. Mercy adored her role as a mother and proved it was what she was born to be. She had a passion for baking and scrapbooking; seeing her personalized family pictures everywhere brought her joy. She brought wonderful memories back to life, and it showed in the work and love she put into her display of picture frames. Likewise, she would pour all her caring into her cookies, her tenderness in her cakes, and her loving self in every delicious thing she baked. She was good at doing the things she loved for those things were made from love themselves. Mercy also had a talent for singing and it became another hobby which she adored. She was once a contestant in “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” during her high school days and would enjoy singing karaoke with her family and friends whenever the opportunity presented itself. Mercy was an employee at the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco California for 21 years. She worked most of her time at the Academic Dean’s Office. She was well loved by her colleagues and professors until she retired in 2005. Mercy was also an active member in the Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo) and served as a Deaconess and Finance Officer. She devoted her life to God and her time to church activities. Mercy was a busy woman but always made time for the people she loved. She filled a room with her bright smile and would melt your heart with her kindness. We will miss her thoughtfulness, her motherly nature and most importantly her warm and caring heart. Mercedita B. Osorio touched the lives of many and will always live in our thoughts and our memories. She is survived today by her husband; Oscar, daughter; Allison, parents; Celso and Pacita, and 3 siblings; Carolina, Cecilia and Rhoderic with wife Eve and daughter Yvette.
