On July 10, 2020 Lydia de Vera Reyes passed away peacefully at home at the age of 79. With her loving family at her side. She was born on December 09, 1940, in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, where she grew up with her 4 sisters and 1 brother. Lydia was raised by her older sister after her mother passed away. Her life as a young child is full of love and memorable moments that she cherished every bit of it. Lydia is a loving and down to earth person. She met her husband Mario P. Reyes in DInalupihan Bataan, Philippines, and later they got married on March 27, 1963. They were blessed with 6 daughters which she dedicated all her life raising her children. Lydia was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Despite of her large family Lydia always made time for everyone. She always provide support and love for her family. Most of all she loved and adored her children, they were her world. If you are lucky to be present when she gazed into her children’s face, the pure joy radiating from her will blind you. Lydia wanted nothing more for them than to have a wonderful life. She immigrated to United State in 1991 with her husband to reunite with her daughters and start a new chapter of their life. For thirty years she lives in Vallejo, California, where she met and touch other people heart. For many years Lydia worked at COREK and eventually retired. Lydia loves cooking, gardening, fishing and travelling. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and her extended family all over the world loved her as well because of her kindness and well pleasant personality. She loves to be surrounded by loving family, friends and extended family. Her life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She is survived by her husband of 57 yrs., Mario Reyes. She is the loving & devoted mother of six daughters and 1 son : Connie Nozaki and husband Kazuyuki Shukuwa, Judy Reyes Rios and husband Adan Rios-Rodriguez; Brenda Murphy and husband Benjamin Murphy; Jennifer Kumazaki and husband Masao Kumazaki; Angelie Reyes Sebero ; Sheila Smigelski and husband Mark Smigelski and son George Reyes; 12 grandchildren: Crystal Gayle Kelly, Marina Konishi, Kennet Reyes, Angel Marie McGuire, Kristine Monticello, Christopher Reyes , Rachelle Sebero, Kyle Smigelski, Michelle Sebero; Kento Uemura ,Reika Nozaki and Ryuichi Kumazaki; plus 8 great grandchildren – Tatsuki Konishi , Riley Anne McGuire, Miona Konishi; Nanami Konishi ; the Kelly babies ; Noah Monticello and Azuza Kubo and her many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Lydia will continue to be loved and missed by all the people she has left behind. She will forever be in our heart. May she rest in eternal peace. Our family would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the love and support we received as we mourn the passing of our love one, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and great-grandmother. We thank you for your encouraging words, genuine acts of kindness during this difficult time. Thank you for all who contributed to the celebration of New Life of Lydia Reyes with your help we were able to honor her during the hardship of this pandemic. Friends and family will be received on Saturday July 18, 2020 from 8AM-9:15AM at Skyview Memorial Lawn, 200 Rolling wood Dr. , Vallejo, CA 94591. After the viewing a funeral service to celebrating her life will be held at St Basil The Great Catholic Church, (10AM-11AM), 1200 Toulumne St, Vallejo, Ca 94590. Following the Mass, we will depart for Skyview Memorial Lawn for the burial.
