Lucia Elaine Quick (Bedard), 86, of Vallejo, CA passed peacefully on June 12, 2026, at Kaiser Vallejo. During her final days, she was surrounded by loving family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo, CA on July 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Elaine was born in Somersworth, NH on September 2, 1939, to Lucia (Scala) and Russell Bedard. She was one of three children. She grew up primarily in Dover, NH, graduating from Dover High School in 1957. Afterwards, she attended Weaver Airline School in Missouri. In 1959, she married Paul Quick in Hartford, CT and subsequently moved to his hometown of Vallejo, CA where she lived for the remainder of her life. They had three children before Paul’s passing in 1970. Elaine was married to her second husband, William Pearson, from 1972 to 1977. Elaine spent most of her career working for the Vallejo School District, serving as the librarian at Franklin Middle School until her retirement in 2007. Elaine was a devoted mother and grandmother. Though she encountered some very difficult losses and hardships throughout her life, she showed impressive resilience as she navigated providing and caring for her family. She will be remembered as a strong, encouraging, and supportive matriarch. Elaine was an adventurous and curious spirit. She absolutely loved to travel, from road trips to cruises. She visited every U.S. state, as well as Mexico and several countries in Europe. She was a sports fan, particularly football (Patriots and Raiders) and NASCAR. She loved game shows, especially Jeopardy. She loved watching birds and other wildlife. Her yard was always filled with feeders, bird houses, and bird baths. Hummingbirds and elephants were her favorite animals. She loved rainy weather and was always excited to jump in puddles and find rainbows with her grandchildren. Her other hobbies included CB radio, reading, crocheting, collecting wind-ups, and baking. Additionally, she was Ross Street’s unofficial neighborhood watch captain. Elaine was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Quick; second husband, William Pearson; brother Roderick Bedard; and daughter, Maureen Combs (Quick). She is survived by her aunt, Ida McKee; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Watson; sons Michael (Kathy) and Anthony “Tony” (Lisa); son-in-law Robert Combs; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, grand-dogs; and lifelong best friend, Juanita Foote.
