Kyle Santiago

Kyle Gion Cruz Santiago was born on September 11, 1998, in Vallejo CA. Born as a premie baby, Kyle was and always remained a fighter from the very beginning. Throughout his life, he flourished to be an incredible loving, talented, and hard working young man. Growing up, he attended Wardlaw Elementary School, St. Vincent Ferrer for Middle School (c/o 2013), and Saint Patrick-Saint Vincent Catholic High School (c/o 2017), where he excelled both academically and athletically. His passion for sports began at the young age of four when he joined East Vallejo Little League. This continued through high school, where he not only played baseball, but also explored cross country and wrestling. Kyle's love for sports extended to his favorite Bay Area teams – the SF Giants, Golden State Warriors, and the 49ers. His dedication to the game mirrored his love and commitment to family and friends. Kyle was also known to embrace life by traveling to places like Jamaica, Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, and beyond. With love for the outdoors, Kyle initiated a career with the US Forest Service at the age of 16. Kyle dedicated himself to working on conservation education programs in the local urban area and participating in youth conservation core programs where he assisted youth in learning about our natural resources. Following high school, he pursued higher education, attending Northern Arizona University before embarking on an electrician apprenticeship. In his free time, Kyle enjoyed barbecuing, gardening with his Mama Charito, indulging in his Nana Belle’s Chamorro cooking, playing paintball with his Papa Mike and Uncle Jr. and being Xav’s biggest fan at his many soccer and basketball games. Kyle’s fighting spirit came to a peaceful end surrounded by his family on January 18, 2024. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. At the gates of heaven, Kyle will be warmly welcomed by his Great-grandpa David “Pop” Valdez and Uncles Emeterio Bustria, Rob Fournier, and Mike Calilan. Now and forever, he will be a special angel to his devoted parents, Marilyn and Gil, beloved brother Xavier, Papa Mike, Mama Vina, Uncle Jr “Buddy”, Auntie Tina, and favorite cousin Ezekiel. May his infectious smile, and vibrant spirit, love for sports, and zest for life be forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. #KyleForever💚
